Harold Hensley, 73 of Smith, passed thru Heavens Gates on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was a member of the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Smith, KY, where he taught Sunday School, served as a Deacon, as well as, Sunday School Superintendent for many years.

Harold retired from Harlan State Vocational School where he served as a machine shop instructor to Harlan County.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Hensley and Ruthie Smith Hensley; his sisters, Morine Hensley Bargo (Bob), Mary Ruth Twinam  Dilbeck; his grand-daughter, Ruby Mae Beard, his niece, Kimberly Harber and grandparents, Lewis and Emily Smith and William Henry Hensley and Laura Hamlin Scott.

Harold is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lela Beth Stillings Hensley of Smith KY, his sons, Harold Hensley JR (Susan) of Smith, KY, Ralph Paul Hensley (Morgan) of Smith, KY and Hunter Beard; his daughter, Keresa Lynn Beard of Pennington Gap VA. He is also survived by his grand children, Laura Beth Hensley (Keith) McMurry, Tristan Hensley and John Beard JR. His brothers, Rodney Hensley (Jackie) of Michigan Town, IN, Frank Twinam (Ruby) of Wacaunda IL, Sam Twinam (Wilma) of Island Lake IL, Willard Hensley (Jean) of Carpentersville, IL, Esco Hensley (Bernice) of Smith, KY and a brother-in- law, James Verlin Dilbeck of Maryland. He is also survived by his sisters; Pauline Hensley Harber (Ralph) of Smith KY and Wilhelmina Hensley Ginter (Freddy) of Morehead, KY. A host of nieces, nephews, co-workers, students, and friends also survive Harold.

Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, June 16, 2016, at 11:00am at The Full Gospel Pentecostal Church at Smith Ky with Rev. Eli Craig, Rev. Spencer Burkhart, Rev. Ernest Hensley and Rev. Aaron Stapleton, officiating. Tammi Chapman will be serving as lead vocalist.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, from 5:00pm until the funeral hour at The Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Smith KY. Burial will follow at the Hensley Cemetery with Tristan Hensley, Hunter Hensley, Keith McMurry, JR. Ginter, Bruce Britton, and Jeff Green serving as pallbearers.
