Christopher “Chuckie” Lankford, 52, of Owingsville, KY passed away on April 9, 2024, at UK Hospital in Lexington, KY. A Harlan County native born on November 24, 1971, Christopher had lived the last twenty years in Owingsville, KY. He was a graduate of James A. Cawood High School, class of 1991 and went on to attend Lincoln Memorial University. He had a love for football, both playing at the high school level and following the NFL. He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. Christopher was a member of the Moores Ferry Church of Christ in Salt Lick, KY.
He is proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents, Murph and Anna Mae Lankford; and his parents Margaret Lankford North and Willie J. North.
He is survived by two sisters, Amber and Husband Scott Hill, of Frankfort, KY; Margaret and Husband Donny Sowards, of Wallins Creek, KY; one niece, Samantha Hill; two nephews, Leonard Hill, and Joe Sowards. A host of cousins and friends also survive.
There will be two memorial services will be held. Saturday April 27th, 2024, at the Moores Ferry Church of Christ, 2396 Moores Ferry Rd. Salt Lick KY 40371, Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm with a funeral service at 3:00pm. Pastor Tony Belcher officiating; Sunday May 5th, 2024, at The Harlan Center, 201 S Main St. Harlan KY, Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm with funeral service at 3:00pm. Pastor Sean Daniels officiating.
Interment will be at Park Howard Cemetery in Wallins Creek, KY at a later date.
