Jessica Sue (Deaton) Black

Jessica Sue Deaton Black, 34, of Harlan, KY passed away on Friday March 15, 2024. She was born September 28, 1989, in Harlan. Jessica was a Devoted mother, daughter, sister, & granddaughter. She loved her children & family with all her heart. She worked as a nurse aide for many years between Britthaven at Cumberland & Middlesboro, also was employed at Harlan Nursing Home. Jessica was a 2007 Evarts High School graduate. In the last four years of her life, she developed a great love for the Lord & enjoyed spending time reading her Bible. Jessica grew up attending Verda First Baptist Church & was currently a member of the Harlan Mission Outreach. She will be missed greatly & forever loved by all that knew her.

Preceded in death by her grandparents, Darryl & Eunice Deaton.

Survivors include her loving children, Kandace & Brayden Clay, her mother, Carolyn Belcher & husband Henry of Harlan, her father, Jeffery Deaton & wife Mona Lisa of Kingsport, TN, one sister, Stephanie Wyatt & husband Matt of Charleston, SC, one brother, Samuel Deaton of Kingsport, TN; Grandparents, Herbert & Bonnie Dean of Ages, KY, two nephews, Nathaniel & Jacob Wyatt of Charleston, SC, three uncles, Herbert Dean Jr. & wife Bernie of South Lion, MI, Tim Deaton of Barbourville, KY, and Gene Ward of Ages, KY. Two aunts, Rhonda Deaton White & husband Jack of Evarts, KY, and Pam Raleigh & husband Rod of Benham, KY. A host of other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 19, 2024, at 7PM in the Chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny McCreary and Rev. Sean Daniels officiating.

Visitation will also be on Tuesday beginning at 4PM until the funeral hour at the Funeral Home.

There will be a private graveside service with family & friends serving as pallbearers.
