Delbert was one of the greatest people we knew. Always laughing and joking no matter how he felt. Never hesitated to help anyone if he could alot took advantange of that we were always very appreciative of every little thing he done for us. We always tried to do what we could to return the favor weather it be cleaning his house, fixing something on his trucks, running into the store for him fixing the computer or just bringing him some chilli Angie made that he loved so much and said quote " You should Put a Patton on that stuff. Thats the best chilli I've ever had." LOL. To bringing him gifts on veterens day one a hat that had vetnem vet on it and the other he called his most prize possesion...The framed picture Angie made him with his name and patches from their uniforms and she even added a purple heart that he never gotten but she thought he deserved..when it was given to him he cried..he was extremely proud of that!! Aaliyah who called him "Papaw D.P." even wrote about him on 911 telling her class he was in the trade center when the plane crashed (LOL) he thought that was really funny when he read her paper she wrote he just laughed and said "It makes me feel good she calls me Papaw D.P." He loved her and she loved him and thought the world of her papaw D.P.. Gosh theres so much you could say about Ol' Delbert that I could go on and on. You will never find a better man than he was would give you his last dime if you needed it and go out of his was to help you if he could and didnt care a bit and never expected anything in return. He was the kindest most humble soul and had the biggest heart on any person that I know. The world lost a amazing Man but Heaven gained a awesome Angel.. R.I.P Papaw D.P. you are loved beyond words and will forever be missed more than you could imagine.. we will always bethankful for everything you done for us and most of all we will always cherish your friendship and are extremely honored and lucky that we had the opportunity to know such an amazing man like you...We love you and miss you Delbert..
