William Foster Obituary
William “Bill” Foster 76, of Harlan, KY went home to be with the Lord on Friday December 11, 2020 after a short illness. He was born September 18, 1944 in Verda, KY. He was a former member of the Harlan County Rescue Squad and believed in the Pentecostal faith. Bill was a former funeral home attendant for many years for his former employers Dukie & Frances Jones. Bill could always be seen at Harlan Dairy Queen enjoying his coffee and socializing with his many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Foster Sr., and Maggie Love Foster. One grandson, Travis Perkins; one special nephew, Jimmy Bowling; one brother, RL Foster and four sisters Bessie McVey, Dorothy Jones, Ruby Miller, and Nannie Foster.
Survivors include his loving children, Kimberly Sue Doyle and husband Rev. Ronnie of London, KY, Carolyn Foster of Oneida, TN, William “JR” Foster III and wife Stacey of Salem, IN, Lisa Pyles and husband Jeff, Harlan, KY, Teresa Thomas and husband Charles of Harlan, KY, Tammy Foster of London, KY and Sierra Danielle Foster of Harlan, KY. A special nephew, James Daniel Cooper of Texas. 23 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 15, 2020 at 7pm in the Chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Doyle officiating. Visitation will also be Tuesday starting at 5pm until the funeral hour.
Private graveside services will be held Wednesday at Evarts Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
