Walter R. Miller, 86 of Dizney, was born on July 8, 1939, and passed away at his home on April 22, 2026, surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. He was a member of the Worldwide Church of God, a retired Coal Miner, he formerly delivered the Harlan Daily Enterprise, he previously drove a school bus for the Evarts Multipurpose Center, and he loved working daily taking care of his flowers and yard that he was proud of.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Miller; his parents, John W and Sarah Miller; his son Walter Ray Miller, JR. and his greatgrandchildren, Lee and Lillie and sixteen of his siblings.
He is survived by his children, Rebecca Arvin and husband Bill of Harlan, KY, Sue Jones and husband Eddie of Kenvir, KY, Sarah Jean Miller of Dizney, KY, Dave Miller and wife, Glenda of Rosspoint, KY and Robert Fitzgerald Miller and wife Christina Renee of Louisville, KY. His daughter in law, Julie Miller. Fourteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren and special nephew Tommy Weaver and a host of nieces, nephews’ family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26th at 5PM until 7PM with a service at 7PM at Henson & Rich Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life in Bloom will be held on Monday, April 27th at11AM at Miller Family Cemetery at Kenvir with Rev. John Luttrell officiaing. Pallbearers will be John Arvin, Eric Arvin, Eddie Jones, Jr., Harold Craycraft, Haydon Smith, Caleb Gross, Ricky Gross, Nathaniel Gross, Matthew Miller, Rodney Thacker.
