Vida Mahan

Vida Marie Howard Mahan, 93 of Middlesboro, KY, entered her Heavenly home on Saturday September 18, 2021, at the Middlesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on December 25, 1927, to Gillis and Mallie Cooper Howard. Vida worked many years as a cosmetologist.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Gene Mahan, her infant son, Robert “Bobby” Mahan; brothers, Ernest Howard, Gillis Howard Jr.; her sister, Leda Hoskins, and her special niece, Patricia “Patty” Hoskins Bratcher.

Those left to cherish her memories are, her siblings, Frank Howard and wife Cora of IL, and Freda Parker of Coxton, KY, and one sister-in-law, Edna Howard of Loyall. Special nephews, Ernest Howard Jr., and wife Kathy of IL, Glen Howard and wife Sabra of Fresh meadows, KY. Her church family- Old Yellow Creek Baptist Church in Middlesboro, KY; her neighbor, Bob Bartin of Middlesboro; Special friends, Joyce Anderson of Middlesboro, and Bill and Anita Hunter of Middlesboro. Also, a host of other nieces, nephews, family, and friends are left behind to mourn/celebrate her passing and her life.

The family sends a special thanks to the employees and staff of the Middlesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center for their excellent care that they have given Vida.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday September 22, 2021, at 1PM in the chapel of the Resthaven Cemetery with David Owens officiating.
