Vickie Qualls, 65 of Harlan passed away on Thursday December 9, 2021, at the North Knoxville Medical Center. She was born on May 21, 1956, in Harlan. Vickie retired from the Harlan County Public School System after working many years and had her Rank 1 Masters of Education. She taught school at Yancey, Hall, and JACES. Vickie coached the Elzo Guthrie girls’ basketball team, the Hall girls’ basketball team, was an avid golf player at the Harlan County Country Club, and she was a member of the Liggett Baptist Church where her Church family adored and loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Qualls, and Patsy Warren Qualls.
Those left to cherish her memories, are her loving sister, Robin Qualls Reed and husband Joe, her niece and nephew, Nathan Doss, and wife Pristine, and Nikki Doss Sage and husband Wesley, and her special niece and nephews, Joshua Sage, Jacob Sage, and Raelynn Doss. Also, a host of other relatives, friends, and Church family also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday December 12, 2021, at 5PM at the Liggett Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Cornett officiating. Burial will be on Monday December 13, 2021, at 1PM at the Resthaven Cemetery Chapel with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will also be on Sunday from 3-5PM at the church.
