Vernell (Hendrix) Wynn

Vernell Wynn, 82, of Ages, KY went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 27, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born November 4, 1943, in Harlan County. Vernell was a homemaker, attended the Ages Free Pentecostal Church and was a lady very strong in her faith. She was also a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Vernell is preceded in death by her parents, Tommy Hendrix and Gladys Horne Hendrix; her husband, Noble J. Wynn; her brother, Benny R. Hendrix and her son-in-law, Tommy White.

Left to mourn her passing are her loving children, Jeanette (Steve) Cheek of Livonia, MI, Loretta White of Talbott, TN, Melissa (Harold) Mosley of Lenoir, NC, Noble Wynn of Ages, KY, Jeffery Wynn of Lenoir, NC, Christopher (Marquita) Wynn of Prior Lake, MN and Gladys (Terry) Tompkins of Whitesburg, TN. Her siblings Rufus (Nellie) Hendrix, Loretta Hendrix, Ricky Hendrix and Rita Earls of all of Ages, KY.  Her grandchildren, Kristina Cheek, Travis (Ashley) Cheek, Brandie (Aaron) Conrad, Chelsea (Aaron) Hawkins, Dustin Mosley, Johnathan Mosley, Kaitlyn Wynn, Hailey Wynn, Jadiah Tompkins, Alexis Tompkins and Taylor Tompkins. Her great grandchildren, Scarlett Mosley, Pixie Mosley, Nora Hawkins, Stella Conrad and Harper Conrad; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 5-PM at the Ages Free Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Jesse Kinder and the Rev. Steven Cheek officiating. Burial will follow at the Wynn Cemetery at Ages with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will also be held on Tuesday at the church from 3-PM until funeral hour.
