Steven Newman, 50, of Grays Knob, KY went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday July 14, 2021, with his family by his side. He was born on December 23, 1970, in Annesley Woodhouse, England. Steve was an assistant manager of Walmart for the past Eighteen years where he received numerous awards. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan, loved to travel, enjoyed a round of golf, and loved soccer and fishing. Steve was a wonderful husband and “paw”, and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, David, and Glenys Newman, one grandson Jacob Caudill and his father-in-law, Morris “Banny” Clem.
Survivors include his loving wife and best friend, Melissa Clem Newman; three stepchildren, Megan Dodson and fiancé Zack Burke of Harlan, KY, Chadd Dodson and wife Lacey of Crab Orchard, KY, and Ashley Caudill and husband Jason of Nolansburg, Ky; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Clem of Grays Knob, KY; four grandchildren, Caden and Abbigail Burke, Anna, and Levi Caudill; one sister, Lyndsey Newman and Gary Holmes of Leicester, England, and one brother, Mark Newman and wife Beverley of Annesley Woodhouse, England. Also, his special aunt, Diann Taylor and husband Rob of Mansfield, England and his precious fur babies, Ruby and Lulu. Several relatives, coworkers, and friends also survive.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday July 24, 2021, in the Chapel of the Henson and Rich Funeral Home at 6PM with the Rev. Jason Caudill and Rev. Sean Daniels officiating. A Eulogy will be read by Paul Meister.
Family will receive friends after 4PM until the Celebration hour on Saturday.
A private burial service will be held at the Clem-Hall Cemetery at Grays Knob, KY at a later date.
Family has requested in lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the ASPCA.
