Sandra Kay Burnette, 70 of Harlan Ky gained her angel wings on April 6, 2021. She was born to the late Edward Burnette and Sylvia Fisher Burnette and she was a devout Christian who walked each step of her life with God guiding her way. Sandy touched many lives over the years where she helped run family businesses, taught preschool at Holy Trinity School, worked at Jewel Craft for many years and finished her career at MCHC. Yet her greatest job on this earth was being a mother and a grandmother.
Other than her parents, Sandy is preceded in death by her brothers Eddie Burnette, Allen Burnette, and a dear sister-in-law Kathy Gilbert.
Survivors include her daughter and best friend Lisa Perry (Eric) of Harlan, her son Drew Burnette and fiancé Kelsey Cope, and daughter Katie Cantini. She is survived by the father of her children whom she was married to many years, Tony Cantini. She leaves behind her pride and joy her three grandsons Drew Burnette, Jace Perry and Jaxson Perry. Her sisters Myra Mosley (Daniel), Debbie Wireman (David). A sister-in-law Audrey Saylor, along with a host of nieces and nephews and several great nephews, nieces along with many dear friends.
To know Sandy was to love her, she was honest, loyal, devoted, full of life and did not care to give you her opinion. She was truly one of a kind.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Staff and to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
We will honor Sandy and her legacy on Thursday April 8, 2021 with a gathering of family and friends at Henson & Rich Funeral Home from 5-7 pm with a true celebration of her life and death at 7pm with Pastor Bob Cornett, officiating and musical selections by Seth Carmical.
In lieu of flowers the family would request donations be made to the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Activities Department or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
Please remember, during the continuing COVID-19 event, capacity restrictions, social distancing and the wearing of face coverings as mandated by the Governor of Kentucky will be followed during all services. We appreciate your help with these guidelines so we can continue to serve our community during these trying times in the safest manner possible.
