Samuel David Smith

Samuel David Smith, 77, of Cranks, KY died on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation. He was born April 18, 1945 in Harlan, KY. Samuel was a retired auto mechanic and believed in the Christian Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Roosevelt “Velty” Smith and Annie Ruth Smith Cadle; two brothers, Stanley Smith and Paul Junior Smith; two sisters, Betty Jean Osborne and Lillie Mae Saylor.

Survivors include three children, Kathy Ann Smith (Tom) of Cranks, KY. Jimmy Wayne Smith (Brittany) of Richmond, KY. David Allen Napier of Harlan, KY. Three grandchildren, Haydon Smith, Brody Stephens and Jackston Tate who is on the way. And several other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, at 1-PM in the Chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the  Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will also receive friends on Friday from 11-AM until the funeral hour.
