Rose Ann (Griffith) Spurlock

Rose Ann Spurlock age 68 of New Tazewell passed away December 1, 2025, at UT Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Harlan, Ky on August 28, 1957, to Leo Otis and Cammie Griffith who precede her in death. She attended the Caylor School of Nursing at LMU and received her nursing degree in 1990. She later got her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Rose practiced as a very caring and compassionate nurse for over 35 years.

She was a member of A Church called Love in Maynardville, TN.

She is preceded in death by her parents Leo Otis and Cammie Griffith and brother Leroy Griffith.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years Kenneth Spurlock, sons Jonathan Spurlock and wife Kristie, and Justin Spurlock. Granddaughters Victoria Spurlock, Addison Spurlock and Madison Spurlock. Brother John Griffith, sisters Lela Johnson and husband Alva, and Oma Wilson. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, in-laws and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday December 5, 2025, from 10:00am till 11:00am with open casket and11:00am till 1:00pm closed casket in the Claiborne ~ Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services to follow at 1:00pm with Pastor Jay Richardson, and Bro. Daniel Hutcheson officiating. Music will be provided by Stanley Leonard. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request donation be made to Rose’s granddaughters basketball team in her honor. The Midway Girls Basketball Team. Rose always enjoyed watching her granddaughter’s sports endeavors.
