Rodney Wayne Ford, 53, of Kenvir peacefully entered his Heavenly home on Thursday, August 17, 2023. He was born March 1, 1970, in Harlan. Rodney worked for the Harlan County Board of Education for the last 18 years as Custodian for the Black Mountain Elementary School. He loved his co-workers at Black Mountain as family. Rodney also attended the Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edd and Mary Janelle Ford and his mother-in-law, Evelyn Hensley.
Those left to mourn his passing include the love of his life for 21 years, Evelina of Kenvir; his sisters, Penny (Gary) Hall of Cordova, AL, Edna (Pete) Jones of Bean Station, TN and Donna (David) Ball of Evarts. His brothers, Rev. Edd Jack (Denise) Ford of Kenvir and Jerry Ford of Harlan. His brother-in-law, Tommy (Denease) Hensley of Savannah, GA and his father-in-law, Donnie Hensley. Also, several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends along with his furbaby Sammy also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at 12-PM in the chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home with Pastor John Luttrell officiating.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 5 to 7-PM and after 11-AM Sunday in the chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held Monday, August 21, 2023, at 11-AM at the Evarts Memorial Gardens at Evarts, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
