Obituary
Ricky Tye, 52, of Harlan, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 19, 1970, in Corbin, KY. Rick was a heavy equipment operator who enjoyed fishing, gardening and loved attending to his chickens.
He is preceded in death by his father, Madison Edward Tye and his sister, Vanda Sue Tye.
Survivors include his loving mother, Virginia Gail Tye of Harlan; his brother, Michael Tye and wife Jennifer of Bardo; his sister, Gina Cooper and fiancé Blake Gross of Dayhoit. His nieces and nephews, David Tye and wife Tracey, Brittany Weaver and husband Jason, Kendra Tye, Corrina Belcher and husband Michael and Justin Higgins and wife Kalee; his great nieces and nephews, Jovi, Austin, Jace and Korbyn. And several other relatives and friends also survive.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 1PM at the Park-Howard Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Joe Rouse officiating. Pallbearers will be, Blake Gross, Michael Belcher, Justin Higgins, Brian Fleenor, Jim Cain, David Tye, Jason Weaver and Austin Tye.
