Phyllis (Miller) Metcalfe

To Know Her Was To Be Fed By Her or At Least She Tried To

Phyllis Ann Metcalfe, 84 of Lawnvalle, was born on February 3, 1938, at Cawood, Kentucky and entered Heaven on February 23, 2022 at her home with her family by her side.

Phyllis took pride in being a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always was there to support them in any endeavor. Her world was her family.

Phyllis worked as a laboratory technician for 50+ years until she retired from Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was never shy about showing her support for her Kentucky Wildcats.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Oral Miller and Beatrice Manis Miller; her husband Kellis Metcalfe; her brothers, Aaron Miller and Bill Miller; her sisters, Margie Noe and Sally Howard; her daughter, Jennifer Elaine Lambert; her special nieces and nephews, Laura Miller, Sam Howard and Steve Howard.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Brassfield, Linda Abrams, Lila and husband Sammy Tipton and Kellis Metcalf, JR. and wife, Deanna; her grandchildren, Melissa Stringfellow, James Allen Brassfield and wife Michelle, Chrissie Brassfield Freeman, Emily Abrahms, Singrid Jennings and husband Michael, Peyton Metcalfe, Noah Metcalfe, Logan Metcalfe, Eli Metcalfe, and Olivia Metcalfe. Her great-grandchildren, Hunter Stringfellow and wife Rachel, Jocelyn Freeman, Abigale Hazelrig, Victoria Hazelrig, Bridget Hazelrig and Violet Jennings. Also, her nieces, Monica Howard and Sue Sparks; her great nephew, Samuel Howard; her great nieces Beth Hensley, Brandy Ford and Allyn Howard.

In honoring her wishes, all services will be private.
