Paul Barger

Paul Barger, 67, of Baxter, KY went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday March 2, 2021. He was born on July 28, 1953 in Baxter. Paul was an employee for Ken Moody for many years. He started at the young age of eight years old sweeping the parking lot of Ken’s Drive-In. In 1979 Western Sizzlin’ Steakhouse opened in Harlan, KY in which Paul became the manager until his retirement in 2013. Paul was also a member of the Loyall Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Barger, and Mellie Coots Barger; One brother, Leslie Barger Jr., and one brother-in-law, Morris Clem.

Survivors include his loving wife, Debbie Barger of Baxter, KY. His loving children, Paul Barger and wife, Becca of Evarts, Robert Barger, girlfriend Khyati Patel of FortWorth, TX; and Jason Middleton, girlfriend Toni Noe of Baxter. Six grandchildren, Keirstain Fultz and husband, Austin, Haley Barger, Kenneth Barger Jr., Harleigh Clem, Jason “Bubby” Middleton, Ella “Sissy” Middleton. One brother, James David Barger of Baxter, KY. Four sisters, Betty Lou Owens, and husband, Kenneth of Coxton, KY, Dorothy Lee Shook of Hodgenville, KY, Elizabeth Clem of Grays Knob, KY, Maxine Pace, and husband, Byrd of Gulston, KY. One sister-in-law, Kimberly Haynes, and husband Don of Cawood, KY. One brother-in-law, Ronnie Bray of Harlan, KY. Several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 11AM in the Chapel of the Henson and Rich Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Hyden officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Thursday March 4, 2021 from 5-7 PM in the Chapel of the Henson and Rich Funeral Home.

EFFECTIVE December 14, 2020 by the Governor’s mandate, visitation and funerals are limited to 50% of our facility occupancy compacity. Face coverings are required. Please use social distancing guidelines.
