Nancy Kay (Holcomb) Lawson

Nancy Kay Holcomb Lawson, 69 of Putney, Ky finished her earthly race on Thursday January 13, 2022. She was born August 23, 1952, in Benham, KY. She is an active member of Putney Bible Church where she served faithfully. She was a retired teacher from the Harlan County Public School System and was a proud Rosspoint Wildcat.

She is preceded in death by her father Astor Holcomb, her mother, Helen Johnson Holcomb, her sister, Pamela Faye Holcomb, two infant children James Lawson and Angela Lawson and a special cousin, Bobbie Fields Bowman.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years Britt Lawson, Jr, her children Britt Lawson, III and wife Shannon. Mark Lawson and wife April, Bethany Lawson Johnson, and husband Matt. Michael Lawson and wife Christen all of Putney. She is also survived by her pride and joy, her 15 grandchildren. Britt Lawson, IV, Jeremiah Mills, Isaiah Johnson, Anna Lawson, Hunter Lawson, Savannah Evans, Ryleigh Lawson, Zoë Lawson, Meredith Lawson, Macie Lawson, Micah Lawson, Kaylyn Lawson, Kadie Lawson, Luke Johnson, and Ella Johnson. Her earthly presence will also be missed by a host of special friends, family, church family, and former students that she loved like her own.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 19, 2022, at 11AM in the chapel of the Henson and Rich Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Lowry and Rev. Matt Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at the Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 5-7PM on Tuesday January 18, 2022, at the funeral home.
