Mary Frances Boggs of Ages, KY entered into her Heavenly home on Sunday October 5, 2025. She was born into the union of the late Homer James McKellar and Mary Pearl (Mitchell) McKellar in Dayton, OH on June 24, 1940. Mary was a retired LPN from Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital where she worked as a 5th floor nurse for many years. She labored at home and worked to make sure her family’s needs were always met. Mary was a woman of Faith, Love, and Commitment. Though she never minced words when it was needed. She loved attending church at Verda First Baptist Church, reading, crocheting, flowers, and shopping. Her favorite thing to do was cooking grand meals for the family to gather and enjoy. She was a passionate woman not short on words when it came to things that mattered. Mary loved her family with all her might and held them dear. She was a woman of great strength and courage, never wavered in hard times. She was always persevered, and one of the toughest women anyone ever known, who never gave up.
She is preceded in death by her parents & five siblings, her son, Matthew Joseph Boggs, and her daughter, Greta Lynn Boggs.
Left to cherish her memory is her true love, companion, and husband of 69 years, Okey Boggs of Ages, KY; three children, Paul (Marilyn) Boggs of Goodyear, AZ, James (Penny) Boggs of Ages, KY, and Kathy Sue Duda of PA. A very special grandson that she adopted, raised, and loved as one of her own, Okey Ryan Boggs (Brianna) of London, KY, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, & Church family also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 2PM at the Verda First Baptist Church with Rev. Danny McCreary officiating.
Visitation will also be held on Wednesday beginning at 12PM at the church until the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the Boggs Cemetery with family & friends serving as pallbearers.
