Luther Jerome Cottrell III, 43, of Coxton, KY entered his Heavenly home on Friday May 5, 2023, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY after battling an extended illness. He was born January 3, 1980, unto the Union of Luther J. Cottrell II and Deborah Fields. Jerome had been a factory worker, and he was baptized at an early age at Verda Baptist Church. His contagious smile and infectious personality will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, LJ and Missouri Cottrell, Charles, and Mattie Vick. One brother, George Cottrell, and an infant sister.
Survivors include his father, Luther J. Cottrell and wife Shelia of Richmond, KY and his mother, Deborah Fields of Coxton. One sister, Tiara Dakota Cottrell, and family; his nephews, George Cottrell JR, and Jaylen Cottrell. His four stepsisters, Gabby, Hailey and Lauren Myles, and Jody Caldwell. A host of aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends who loved and adored him are also left to cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday May 13, 2023 at 1PM in the Chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home with Rev. Jake Ravizee & Rev. Albert Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery with the former Evarts High School Basketball Team of 1998 serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will also be on Saturday from 11AM-1PM at the Funeral Home.
