Loretta Pierce Obituary

Loretta Pierce, of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, at the age of 86. She was born on April 22, 1940, and lived a life centered on love, family, and kindness toward others.

Loretta dedicated many years of her career to Keys Fiber, now known as Huhtamaki, in Hammond, Indiana. She was a proud member of the United Paper Workers Union, where she served as a Shop Steward, advocating for and supporting her fellow workers with strength and compassion.

Above all else, Loretta cherished her family. She was the heart of every gathering, joyfully planning and hosting family reunions and celebrations that brought loved ones together. Her deep love for her mother, her husband, her children, and her grandchildren was evident in everything she did. She also had a generous spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand or give to those in need, and she maintained many lasting friendships throughout her life.

Loretta is survived by her loving husband, Bill Pierce; her son, Billy Pierce; her daughters, Bobbi Tolliver, Robin Tolliver, and Jackie Wright; her cherished grandchildren, Phillip Tolliver, Megan Tolliver, Emily Romer, and Elliot Romer; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Ethyn Carr, Rowan, Nora, Natalie, Giovanna and Lorenza. She is also survived by her brother, David and wife, Rosa McGregor, her sisters in law, Ollie McGregor and Dixie McGregor as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mae McGregor; her granddaughters, Sasha Nicole Sergent and Kasey Lynn Tolliver; her brothers, Billy Ray McGregor, Joe McGregor, Bob McGregor, Jack McGregor, Pete McGregor; and her sister, Lola Shackleford.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 9th at Park Howard Cemetery in Wallins, KY.
