Keston “Fred” Sturgill, 60, of Wallins, KY was born September 5, 1959 in Whitesburg, KY and passed away Saturday, October 26, 2019 in Lexington, KY. Fred was a retired correctional officer and believed in the Pentecostal Faith. His love for sports was shown by the many years that he coached baseball, basketball and football with the youth of Harlan County.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Connie Sturgill; his father, Keston “Bud” Sturgill and his stepdaughter, Casey Ford.
Survivors include his mother, Janice Sturgill; his son, Keston Kyle Sturgill and wife Kristy; his sister, Merita Doan and husband Frank; his stepdaughter, Lisa Whitehead and husband Lonnie. His grandchildren, Kaylee Sturgill and Keston Sturgill. His nieces, Beth Hensley and husband Ryan and Brandy Ford and husband James. His great nieces, Harlee Shaw and Emilee Shaw; his step grandchildren, Gabriel Price, Dawson Price, Lonnie Whitehead, Logan Whitehead, Chelsey Hensley and Ethan Dillman; his special friend, Jonathon Smallwood and several other relatives and friends also survive.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 8 PM in the chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Doyle and the Rev. Keston Sturgill officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
