Josephine Hundley

Josephine Hundley, 80, of Shields, KY passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at the Harlan Health & Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. She was born February 24, 1944, in Harlan County KY. Josephine worked during her teenage years at the Harlan County Court House before being married to the late Claude Hundley and moving to Chicago, IL. She spent most of her life in Chicago where she worked in accounting for 40 years before moving back home to Shields, KY. She was known for her loud laughter and her candid opinion. Josephine was also a member of the Kings Chapel Assembly of Shields, KY.

She is preceded in death besides her husband by her parents, Earnest Marlowe, and Ruby Marlowe; one brother, Bobby Marlowe.

Survivors include her siblings, Ernie Marlowe and wife Brenda of Ohio, Carl Marlowe and wife Linda of Ohio, Jean Ptak of Georgia, James Marlowe and wife Elizabeth of Georgia, Elizabeth Ann Kelly of Lejunior, KY, Hugh Marlowe of Georgia and Kenneth Marlowe of Louellen, KY. Also, her special nephew, Stanley Marlowe and wife Renee of Harlan, KY and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 10-AM in the chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Evarts Memorial Gardens at Evarts, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 3, 2023, from 5-7PM in the chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home.
