John Moss Roberts, 93 of Harlan, was born on September 7, 1927 and entered Heaven on April 18, 2021 at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital with family and friends by his side. He was a US Army Veteran during the Korean War, the first Post Commander of VFW 1178 at Baxter, former owner of Roberts Furniture at Baxter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, D.C. Roberts, and Virgie Middleton Roberts; his wife, Ruby Hawks Roberts; his sister Edna Earle Johnson and a niece, Daune Roberts.
He is survived by his niece, Lynn Stubblefield and a nephew, Nickolas Johnson. His great nieces and nephews, April Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Alex Stubblefield, and Kris Stubblefield. Also, his lifelong friend and business partner of over 50 years, George King and his son, Mike & Amy King, and family.
Burial was at Resthaven Cemetery and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
