Jimmy Ray Whitehead

Jimmy Ray Whitehead, 73, of Springport, Michigan passed away after a courageous battle with illness. He was born October 18, 1949, in Kenvir, Kentucky to the late Silas and Trula (Saylor) Whitehead. For many years Jimmy worked for Harvard Industries. He married the love of his life Marilyn, and the two shared 47 years of marriage. Jimmy loved his family beyond measure and cherished spending time with them. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially playing a round of golf or going fishing.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death to his wife, Marilyn Sue Whitehead; step-grandson, Zack Porter; siblings, Silas L. Whitehead, and Trulena Whitehead. He is survived by his children, Melinda (Darrell) Witt, Scotty (Dawn) Whitehead, and Jeffery Whitehead; grandchildren: Josh Witt, Jace Witt, Jenna (Chris) Cupp, Alec (Kayla) Whitehead, Emerald (Alton) Henderson, Caleb Whitehead, Alyssa Whitehead; step-grandchildren, Bowen Porter, Jonathan Porter, Serena Porter; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Braxlyn, Bryson, and Trever; siblings, William (Shirley) Whitehead, Johnny Whitehead, Mike Whitehead, Floralena Bledsoe, Georgia Saylor; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering celebrating Jimmy’s life will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 5-7:00 pm at Vickers Springport Funeral Home, 129 Pearls St. Springport, Michigan 49284. Jimmy will be laid to rest Monday, June 5, 2023 at Riverside Cemetery, in Albion, Michigan at 2:00 pm. Arrangements entrusted to Vickers Springport Funeral Home, 129 Pearls St./P.O.
