Jewell Marlowe

Jewell Marlowe, 83, of Dizney, KY went to receive her Heavenly reward on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, following an extended illness. She was born July 25, 1941, in Harlan County, KY. Jewell was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church and was loved by many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George Tomlinson and Mary Rose Tomlinson; her husband, Mitchell Marlowe; her brothers, Earl Tomlinson and George Wynn.

Left to mourn her passing is her daughters, Penny Brown and husband James of Cumberland, KY and Denise Cox and husband Phillip of Dizney, KY. Her grandchildren, Noah Day, Layla Furgerson and Ava Brown. Her sister, Bertha Bailey of St. Charles, VA; her brothers, Ronnie Tomlinson and wife Freda of Jonesville, VA, Ray Tomlinson of Kenvir, KY and Bill Tomlinson of Huntington, WV along with several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Locust Grove Baptist Church at 3-PM with the Rev. Lloyd Ray Burkhart and Brother Noah Day officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Cupp Cemetery at Kenvir, KY with Noah Day, Jordan Holman, Josh Shackleford, Phillip Wynn, Chris Brewer and Seth Aslinger serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 25, 2025, after 3-PM at the Locust Grove Baptist Church 5033 HWY 215, Evarts, KY.
