Jerry Wayne Huskey, 77, of Kenvir, KY passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born on October 20, 1945, in Kenvir to the late Arthur Washington Huskey and Mary Bell Huskey. Jerry was a retired coal miner having last been employed by Westmoreland Coal Company with 30 years of mining experience. He was a proud member of the UMWA, Brittains Creek Missionary Baptist Church, and he was an outstanding mechanic who was up for working on everyone’s vehicles.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Louise Huskey, and his siblings, Robert Huskey, Ken Huskey, Frances Huskey, Betty Lou Filmore, Howard Huskey, & Cricket Brown.
Those left to cherish his memories are three children, Albert Dewayne Huskey & wife Angela of Loyall, KY, Ferlan William Huskey & partner Kevin Calhoun of Nashville, TN & Misty Ann Strozier & husband Michael of Mayfield, KY. Five grandchildren, Brandon Shackleford, April Goodie, James Ball, Kayla Huskey & Brady Huskey, 13 great grandchildren, & one brother, Arthur “Ott” Huskey of OH. Several nieces, nephews, relatives, & friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at 2PM in the Chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Moore officiating. Burial will follow at the Evarts Memorial Gardens with family & friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will also be on Sunday from 12-2PM at the Funeral Home.
