Jerome Rice

Jerome Dell Rice, 52, of Putney, KY passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025, due to a short illness. He was born on December 22, 1972, in Pineville, KY. He is a 1991 graduate of Harlan High School and then pursued a degree in criminal justice. Jerome had been a logger and coal miner and believed in the Pentecostal Faith.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Amanda Jean Rice; his parents, Odell Rice and Cleo Craig Rice.

Survivors include his children, Elijah Rice, Caitlin Rice, Jerome Rice and Tyler Maggard; his stepson, Dion Martin. His three grandchildren, Paisley, Cody and Brian Maggard; his brother, Jack Rice and wife Beth; his niece, Harley Rice and several other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 4-PM at Cornerstone Church HWY 413 Baxter, KY with the Rev. Jeff Mills officiating. The family will receive friends also on Saturday, from 2-PM until the funeral hour.
