Janice Lynn Poynter, 70, of Harlan, KY passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023, at her home due to an extended illness. She was born on April 10, 1952 in Harlan. Janice retired from Kentucky Vocational and Rehabilitation after working for 26 years. She believed in the Christian Faith, attended Liggett Baptist Church and an avid animal lover.
She is preceded in death by her father, Eugene “Hoppy” Hopkins and her brother, Mark Hopkins.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Pete Poynter, her mother, Evelyn Fultz Hopkins, her loving daughter, Rachel & fiancé Matthew Thacker, and her fur baby, Milo Poynter. A host of other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday April 2, 2023, at 3PM in the Chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home with Rev. Sean Daniels officiating.
Janice’s visitation will also be on Sunday from 1-3PM at the funeral home.
Private burial services will be held at Resthaven Cemetery on Monday.
Pallbearers will be Steven Hatfield, Bob Rhea, Bob Rutherford, Matthew Thacker, Jim Moore, James Slusher, Henry Belcher and Honorary Pallbearer will be Butch Smith.
