Herman Lewis Hill, 91, of Lenarue, KY entered his Heavenly home on Sunday, January 30, 2022. He was born August 25, 1930 in Harlan, KY. Herman was a retired coal truck driver, a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He was also a member of the Little Creek Pentecostal Church and enjoyed playing and singing gospel music.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Monroe Hill Sr., and Edna Paul Hill; his son, Herman Wayne Hill; his brothers, Monroe Hill Jr., Delano Hill and Kenneth Hill. His sisters, Reva Mae Hill, Mary Mills, Joyce Killion, Wanda Stewart and still born sister Jean.
Herman is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Virgie Noe Hill of Lenarue, KY; his daughters, Belinda Welch and husband Mike of Lenarue, KY and Judy Grubbs and husband Gary of Cawood, KY. His sister, Linda Sue Brown of Harrogate, TN; his grandchildren, Michelle Landis and husband Mike, Beverly Stephens and husband Teddy, Christy Cantrell and husband Rob, Jason Hill and wife Misty, Stephanie Long and husband Richard, Gary Grubbs and wife Felicia; and 13 great grandchildren, special friend, Butler Peggs, and several other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 7-PM at the Little Creek Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Gary Grubbs and the Rev. Johnnie Smith officiating. Visitation will also be Wednesday starting at 5-PM until the funeral hour.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 11-AM at the Resthaven Cemetery with Military Rites performed by the Harlan County Honor Guard. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
