George Thacker

George Thacker, 75 of Cranks, passed away on Monday November 29, 2021. He was born on February 6, 1946, to William and Bertha Thacker. George was a Coal Miner for 26 years and believed in the Pentecostal Faith.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Pearley Baldwin Thacker; his son, George Edward Thacker and his siblings, Richard Thacker, Maggie Sturgill, and Bonnie Jean.

Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Billy Thacker and wife Maegan of Cranks, Ray Baldwin and wife Susie of Cumberland, Elizabeth Sergent and husband Joe of Cranks, and Judy Johnson and husband Mickey of Corbin; nine grandchildren, Isabella, Luke, and Sophie Thacker, Bill, James, and Jacob Johnson, Franklin Baldwin, Heather Thomas, Brittany Fields, and five great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 2, 2021, at 7PM in the Chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Grubbs officiating. Graveside services will be on Friday December 3, 2021, at 12 PM in the Thacker Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers.

Visitation will also be on Thursday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
