George Saylor, 71, of Molus, KY went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. He was born December 4, 1949 in Harlan County KY. George was a retired coal miner, and superintendent with 47 years of service and he also believed in the Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Helen Ward Saylor; his beloved wife, Lydia Sue Saylor; his brothers, Carl, Jack, Morris and Clark Saylor; his sisters, Ada Saylor, Minnie Saylor and Gladys Hatfield.
Survivors include his children, Jesse Saylor and wife Kim of Molus, Kenneth Saylor of Molus, George Saylor Sr. of Whitley County and Tammy Saylor of Molus. His brother, Lonnie Ted Saylor and wife Barbara of Molus; his daughter-in-law, Sheila Scott of Lafollette, TN and sister-in-law Cindy Saylor of Molus. His grandchildren, Brian Saylor and wife Destiny, Brittany David and husband Chris, Michael Lawson, George Saylor Jr. Jordan Saylor and fiance’ Madison, Shilyn Saylor, Miranda Scott, Lydia Saylor and April Saylor; his eight great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 1-PM in the chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Eldridge and the Rev. Jeff Craig officiating. Burial will follow in the Saylor Cemetery of Molus, KY with family serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 14, 2021 from 5-8 PM in the chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home.
