George William Rigney, born on August 8, 1966, spent the last 55 years running from the law, being up to no good, working on cars, and spending time with his children. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and starting different wood working projects. George spent his life being a jack of all trades but a master of none. Need your brakes changed? George can do it. Need your house torn apart and duct taped back together? George can do that. Need someone to tell you a funny story? George can do that too. He enjoyed fishing, working on junk, and pranking his children & grandchildren.
He was blessed to the be the son of the late Dillard Rigney who was his lifelong best friend and Anna Mae Rigney who cherished him. George had been grieving the loss of 2 of his brothers, Dillard “Junebug” Rigney and Paul Rigney.
George had several other siblings who he drove crazy until his last day; Larry “Gabby” Rigney & wife Mary of Ages, Phyllis and Monk Curtis of Ages, Janie and Danny Luttrell of Middlesboro, and Deanie Rigney of Ages.
Over the past 30 years, George was blessed with the best gifts he had ever received. His 3 children and 6 grandchildren. He leaves behind his daughter, Debra “Sis” Smith & husband Jon of Barbourville, his oldest son Kenny “Bub” Rigney & wife Alicia of Coxton, and the baby of the family, Jonathan “Marcus Nicole” Rigney & fiancé Morgan of Barbourville.
George had 6 beautiful grandchildren who he loved more than life, Grace, Tyler, and Johnna Smith, Braxton, Kash, and Ella Rigney. He was often spending time with them letting them paint his basement, putting make up on him, or teaching them how to shoot a BB gun. He will be remembered by his family as a goofy dad who was always willing to lend a helping hand.
