Freda (Howard) Parker

Freda Howard Parker, 90, of Coxton, was born on April 1, 1932, in Harlan, KY to the late Gillis Howard and Mallie Cooper Howard. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. Freda loved her family deeply, but most of all, Freda loved the Lord Jesus Christ, her church, and her church family. She was a member of the Coxton Baptist Church. In her younger years, she taught one of the largest Sunday School classes. Freda spent her life helping others, never thinking of herself and she was an excellent cook. This precious lady will be sadly missed, however knowing that she is rejoicing with her Lord Jesus Christ will bring comfort and Peace.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Leslie Parker. Her sisters, Vida Mahan, and Leda Hoskins; brothers, Gillis Howard Jr., and Ernest Howard Sr., two grandsons, Bryan Parker, and Scott Owens. Also, a niece, Patricia Bratcher and her nephew, Bobby Mahan.

Those left to mourn her passing are her five sons, Kenneth Owens and wife Betty, David Owens and wife Debbie, Gary Parker and wife Paula, Tom Parker and wife Karen, and James Parker and wife Diane. Nine grandchildren, Tracey Owens, Joseph Owens and wife Kristle, Melissa Owens, Matthew Owens and wife Elizabeth, Justin Parker and wife, Elizabeth, William Parker and wife Kara, Luke Parker, Kyle Parker and wife Kristen, and Christy Parker and fiancé Robert; Great grandchildren, Ryan Rowe and wife, Jazlyn, Meredith Rowe, Aspen, Hunter, Piper, Joseph Jr., Mackenzie, Isabella, Aaron Owens, Kylee and Karson Parker, Ellen Pace, Hope and husband Johnathan Macnevin, Charlie Parker, Devin, Shyla, Dezmin D’ Mitri Parker, and Victoria Baker; great great grandchildren, Axel Rowe, Abbigale Baker, Aurelia Mary Ellen Macnevin.  Also, one brother, Frank Howard, and wife Cora; special nephews, Jimmy Howard, Glen Howard, and wife Sabra; and special friend, Carletta.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 31, 2022, at 1PM at the Coxton Baptist Church with Pastor Craig Garland officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be on Tuesday August 30th from 6-8PM in the Chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home.
