EDWARD C MERRILL

Edward Cleveland Merrill, 77 of Bledsoe, KY passed away on Sunday October 23, 2022, surrounded by his family at the Appalachian Regional Hospital of Whitesburg, KY after a long illness.

Edward Merrill was born on October 3, 1945, to the late Levi & Fern Merrill. He is a retired coal miner and superintendent having been employed by Manalapan Mining for many years.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Pauline Huff Merrill, son, Gary Dale Merrill. His brothers Burnice, Danny, William, and Larry Merrill, and his sister, Carol Carrier.

Those left to cherish his memories are his sons, Greg Merrill of Rosspoint, KY, and Brad Merrill & wife Deanna of Sharps Chapel, TN. Daughter-n-laws Geraldine Merrill, and Lisa Merrill both of Bledsoe, KY. Sisters, Connie Jones, Doris Coots, Mary Lou Lawson & husband Bobby, Lillian Cole, Marie Maggard & husband Tim. Brothers, Alec Wayne Merrill, and Glenn Merrill. Grandchildren, Paula Bray & husband Nick of Bledsoe, KY, Kendra Slone & husband Chenoa of Pineville, KY, Kayla Smith & husband Brad of Georgetown, KY, Devan, Bryson, and Colton Merrill of Sharps Chapel, TN, Shane and Scott Merrill of Bledsoe, KY. Great grandchildren, Breanna & Colby Bray of Bledsoe, KY, Khloe & Kynlee Slone of Pineville, KY, and Noah Smith of Georgetown, KY. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, also survive.

A special thank you to the ones who helped take care of him in any way, the family greatly appreciates it.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 11AM at the Pine Mountain Church of God. Services will follow at 2PM with Rev. Kermit Creech and Winfred Causey officiating. Burial will follow at the Huff Family Cemetery in Bledsoe, KY with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
