On September 30th, Donnie Ray “Crawdad: Hensley, 78 of Wallins, entered his Heavenly home. He believed in the Pentecostal Faith and is a member of House of Mercy in Wallins Creek, KY. Crawdad loved going to the races in Tazewell Tennessee, watching NASCAR on TV, fishing, going ginsenging and most of all watching his son play and coach football games.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Bessie Lester Hensley; the love of his life, his wife, Evelyn Hensley; his brothers Jim Hensley and Bobby Hensley; his sister, Coleita Hensley and his son-in-law, Rodney Ford.
Those left to mourn his passing are his children, Tommy and wife, Denease Hensley and Evelina Ford, his granddaughter, Ashleigh and husband, Andy Atkins and awaiting on the arrival of his first great-granddaughter, Hensley Layne Atkins. Also, a host of nieces, nephews’ family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 2nd from 5-7PM with funeral services at 7o’clock in the Chapel of Henson & Rich Funeral Home with Rev. Sean Daniels officiating. Burial services will be private.
