Connie Burkhart

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Connie Burkhart, who went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at the age of 70.

Born on September 21, 1954, in Harlan, KY Connie was a woman of great faith, warmth and unwavering love. She lived a life devoted to God and to her family, touching everyone she met with her gentle spirit and kind heart.

A faithful servant of the Lord, she was rooted in the Holiness Faith and would spend her days walking in grace and humility. Whether through prayer, song, or simply a quiet conversation, she carried the light of Christ in everything she did.

Connie was the heart of our family. Her sweet presence filled every room with love, and her arms were always open and ready with a hug, smile or a word of encouragement. She taught us the meaning of unconditional love.

She is now reunited in Heaven with her mother, Helen Gilbert; her best friend Brenda Rigney; her parents, Walter and Mary Burkhart; and her brother-in-law, Danny Yount.

Left to mourn her passing is her two children, Mary Ann Goodie and Frank Goodie; her grandchildren, Debra and Jon Smith, Kenny and Alicia Rigney, Briann Cornett, Jonathan and Morgan Rigney, David and Naomi Goodie. Her great grandchildren, Braelynn Langley, Grace Smith, Braxton Rigney, Tyler Smith, Ella Rigney, Bane Langley, Kash Rigney, Johnna Smith, Kaylie Goodie, Jaxon Goodie and Gwendolyn Rigney. Her sisters, Mary Yount, Claudia Rowe and Wayne; and several other relatives and friends also survive.

The family would also like to thank Holly Ledford for taking such good care of her for the past several months.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 1-PM at the Ages Free Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Perry Long and the Rev. Terry Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens of Evarts, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends after 6-PM Friday, June 6, 2025, at the Ages Free Pentecostal Church.
