Cleo Johnson, 98, of Harlan, KY went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 14, 2024. He was born August 25, 1926, in Harlan, KY. Cleo retired from Harlan National Bank and was also previously employed at Watson’s Department Store in Harlan. He was also a member of the Grays Knob Bible Church.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Emilie V. Johnson; his parents, Thomas Johnson and Carrie Boggs Johnson; his brothers, Odell Johnson, Giles Johnson, Leslie Johnson, Joe Johnson and Billy Johnson; his sisters; Ola Mae Shoope and Opha Dumas; his brother-in-law, Garry Henson Sr.
Survivors include his nephews, Jerry D. Johnson (Holly), Garry Henson JR (Donnece) and Bill Johnson (Jonell); his nieces, Belinda Cassim (Brian), Priscilla Stines, Leslie Ella Clark (Bill), Loretta Shumate and Katie Meckes (Max). His sister-In-law, Brenda Henson and his very special friends, Will Cassim, Jim Roddy, Mike and Terri Kelly among several relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 7-PM at the Grays Knob Bible Church with the Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Visitation will also be Tuesday beginning at 5-PM until the funeral hour.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 10-AM at Resthaven Cemetery Chapel. Pallbearers are Jim Roddy, Brian Cassim, Jeff Belcher, Max Meckes and Leo Miller. Honorary pallbearers are Will Cassim and Mike Kelly.
