Clara (Henson) Clark

Clara Henson Clark, age 95 of Dothan, Alabama passed away peacefully at Extendicare Health Center where she was a resident over the last 12 years. She was born February 26th, 1928 in Liggett, Kentucky to the late John C Henson and Gertrude (McFadden) Henson.

Clara was an active member of Selma Baptist Church for many years. She retired after 23 years of retail sales for Sears Roebucks. Clara enjoyed gardening, music, attending Sunday School and serving in various church activities.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Rickey Steven Clark; her husband, Ira Ray Clark; her brothers, John Henson, Jim Henson, Jeff Henson, Grady Henson, Wilbur Henson and H.P. Henson; her sisters, Lois Kirkdale, Gladys Lyons, Nellie Hughes and twin, Clarcie Jeffries.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Ray Clark; granddaughter, Tiffany Banks and husband Denny Banks; great grandchildren, Sawyer Banks and Gracyn Banks; grandsons, Chase Clark and family, Cody Clark; her sister; Christine Popperwell and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held in Clara's honor, Saturday March 25th at 11:00 am, at Memory Hill Cemetery, 2390 Hartford Hwy, Dothan, Alabama.

Clara's family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the owners and caretakers of Extendicare Health Center for the immeasurable love and care they have shown her over the last 12 years. As a long time resident they always took wonderful care of her and treated her like family. We are forever grateful!
