Chester “Bud” Foster, 71, of Cawood, KY passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital due to an extended illness. He was born October 19, 1950 in Oneida, TN. Bud was a retired coal miner with 25 years of service and was also a member of the Mary Helen United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his father, Chester Foster; his daughter, Kerensa Dawn Foster; his sisters, Faye Worthington and Dixie Bundy.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Janet Bruce Foster of Cawood, KY; his mother, Katherine Foster of Dryden, VA; his children, Stacy Foster of Cawood, KY and Krystal Napier and husband Ricky of Pathfork, KY. His grandchildren, Brittany Foster, Dillan Napier, Tyler Napier, Cassidy Foster and Gavin Napier; his great grandchildren, Blayze Mayhew, Easton Mayhew, Kyllan Napier and one great-grandchild expected in October. His sisters, Wanda Posey and husband Billy of Dryden, VA, Barb Austin and husband Robert of Florida and Stephanie Wilder and husband David of Dryden, VA. His mother-in-law, Faye Bruce, and special friend. Sheb Cupp. Also, several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 7-PM in the chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home with Randy Brock officiating. The family will also receive friends after 5-PM Wednesday until the funeral hour.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 11-AM at Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Mary Helen United Methodist Church 85 Circle Pine Dr. Coalgood, Kentucky 40818.
