Carl Ed “Pap” King, 78 of Ages, KY passed away Monday, at the St. Joseph Hospital in London, KY. He was born June 12, 1940 in Harlan, KY. Ed was a retired bus driver having been employed by the Harlan County Board of Education and had also worked for Harlan County Fiscal Court for many years. He loved to play corn hole, fishing, dirt track racing and living life. Ed never met a stranger and was known as Pap to everyone.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Murray & Baldie Fields King; his son, Charles “Chuck” King; his granddaughter, Andrea Joseph; his brothers, Jerry, Bonell & Mark King; his sister, Kathleen Breeding and his best amigos, George Orgeron.
Survivors include his children, Sharon Joseph & husband Gary of Middlesboro, Carla King & Ed Fuson of Ages, Angel King of Utah, John King & Earlane Foutch of Middlesboro, Carl King Jr. & wife Regina of Bloomington, IL. His sister, Jackie Fee of Cumberland. His grandchildren, Justin Morrisett, Adam Joseph, George Orgeron Jr., Heather, Kali, Colby & Peyton King, Jordan Brandt-Trainer, Madeline, Gabrielle & Elijah King. His great grandchildren, Liam Treece, Cash & Ellie Joseph, Lorenzo King Lockwood. His special friend & mother of his children, Susan Orgeron. A special cousin, Gary Russell. His special friends, Suzy & Bill Bennett. His special buddy, Owen Noe. His loving crew from Dairy Hut & Evarts Marathon and several nieces & nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11-AM in the chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Moore and the Rev. Danny McCreary officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, from 5-8-PM in the chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home.
