CLARENCE HENSLEY

Rev. Clarence Hensley, 62 of Wallins, formerly of Kenvir, opened his eyes to see his Heavenly Father on Friday July 29th, 2022.

He was reunited with his parents, Rev. David Hensley, and Patsy Buress Hensley. Also, his late special aunt, Pauline Crider.

Clarence is survived by his wife of 20 years, Deborah Hensley. His daughters, Rachel Hensley, Patty (Steven) Purdy, and his stepson, Derek Hensley; five grandchildren, Christopher Hensley, David and Anna Farley, Sarah, and Brooklyn Barrett. His sister, Sharon (Daniel) Wells, special uncle, Ralph Crider, and his special cousins, Lisa Cook and Kevn Crider. Also surviving is his ex-wife, Tina King the mother of his daughters.

Clarence pastored several churches in the county. He worked in retail where many knew him as “Smiley” which was a fitting nickname for him because he always had a smile on his face and a good word for everyone. His Faith shined throughout his life, and during his brave cancer battle a few years ago. He said, “I will win either way!” And now he has won!

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 3, 2022, at 7PM in the chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home with the Rev. Sean Daniels officiating. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 5-7PM at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday August 4, 2022, at 11AM at the Park-Howard Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
