Billie Gail Ayers

Billie Gail Ayers, 76, of Harlan, KY was born on Thursday, December 6, 1945, in Harlan and passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022, at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY. Billie was a retired Teacher of the Hearing Impaired, having been employed by the Harlan County Board of Education for many years. She was also a member of the Harlan Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Johnson, and Dorothy Cheatham Johnson.

Left to mourn her passing are her four children, Brooke Burkhart and husband Eddie of Richmond, KY, Elizabeth Ayers of Lawrenceburg, KY, Seth Ayers of Lexington, KY and Sarah Howard and husband Justin of Harlan, KY. Her grandchildren, William, Charlotte, and Finley Howard; her sister, Jeniene Huff and husband Gayle of Harlan, KY. Her nephew, Stacey Huff and wife Vivanna of Peachtree, GA. Her niece, Caroline Hogue and husband Brooks of Lexington, KY. Her great nephews and niece, Alexander Huff, Nico Huff and Amme Kate Hogue. A host of relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at 12-PM in the chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home with the Rev. Sean Daniels and the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery with Seth Ayers, Eddie Burkhart, Justin Howard, and Brooks Hogue serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2022, from 5-7PM in the chapel of the Henson & Rich Funeral Home.
