Charles Albert Pack, 74 of Harlan, passed away suddenly at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in the ICU department on Saturday, March 24, 2018.   He suffered from a Hemorrhagic Stroke along with other internal complications. He is retired military (Army) serving 20 years before retiring.  He also served in three different tours in Vietnam War where he was wounded and received a Purple Heart. He still has the shrapnel (fragments of a bomb, shell, or other object thrown by an explosion) in his hip.  Charles was very proud and honored to have served his country. He was also a very loving husband, father, brother and proud grandfather.

His first-born son, Jeffery Allen Pack, his father William Albert Pack and his mother, Laura Josephine Pack precede Charles in death.

Charles is survived by his wife of almost 50 years Phyllis Lee-Pack of Harlan, KY. His two siblings, his sister Elizabeth Pack-Pittman-Engelsman and her husband, Bruce Engelsman of Australia and his brother, David Samuel Pack of Tamarac, FL.  His three children Linda Pack-Haughn and her husband, Theron Haughn of Pickerington, OH, Charles Robert Pack and his wife, Janie Pack of Harlan, KY and Charlotte Pack-Peterson of Columbus, OH.  His five grandchildren Brian Christopher Peterson of Columbus, OH, Holly Elizabeth Hollopeter of Pickerington, OH, Sean David Peterson of Columbus, OH, Robert Benton Hollopeter of Pickerington, OH and Logan Scott Hollopeter of Pickerington, OH.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 29th at 1:30PM at Henson & Rich Funeral Home, 414 E Mound Street in Harlan, Kentucky, with Pastor Oscar Seiver officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, Kentucky.

The Harlan County Honor Guard will perform military burial honors.
